“We had the pleasure of having Dr. Allen present to our team, sharing both the science and practical application, of techniques around effective collaboration through in-person and hybrid meetings. With roughly 4,000 associates in a distributed model, we had lost the inter-connectedness that fosters the best-practice sharing we had been successful at in earlier stages of the company.
As an industry that specializes in client meetings, we had not realized our lack of efficacy in how we communicated amongst ourselves. Dr. Allen’s training provide an instant upscaling of our interactions. It was well worth our time and resources.”

"Joe brings a rare blend of research depth and real-world practicality, ensuring that every idea is evidence-based yet immediately actionable. Writing three books with him on running better meetings, especially in hybrid and virtual environments, was both energizing and intellectually rigorous. Collaborating with him elevates the work and makes the process as rewarding as the outcome.”

“Professor Joseph Allen, a highly respected and trusted I/O psychologist with deep expertise in team research and occupational health psychology, developed and delivered a session for the National Bio and Agro-Defense Facility in Manhattan, Kansas, as part of the USDA-funded project for which I am serving as Principal Investigator. In this project, his session introduced the framework of After Action Review (AAR) and thoughtfully demonstrated its application to safety-related incidents and near misses. He positioned AAR not merely as a procedural tool, but as a structured mechanism for fostering constructive organizational learning—ultimately supporting stronger psychological safety and a more robust safety climate across the organization. Drawing on his extensive experience, Professor Allen provided practical guidance on effective team communication and the implementation of AAR, enriched with numerous real-world examples. His contribution was instrumental in equipping organizational members—including researchers, HR professionals, facility maintenance staff, and senior leadership—with a strategic, learning-oriented approach to reviewing events. Importantly, he emphasized how AAR can shift conversations away from judgment and toward shared reflection and continuous improvement. His session was an integral component of the project and has meaningfully strengthened the organization’s capacity to approach safety events with openness, rigor, and a commitment to collective learning.”
